The Season's Best

Heinz had been printing '57 Varieties' since 1896 even though the company already made far more than 57 products; founder H.J. Heinz simply liked the ring of the number. This New Year's page leans on wordplay instead, building the layout around 'The Season's Best and the Best of Seasonings' so a single condiment borrows the goodwill of a holiday toast. The cherub and the oversized '1939' date the ad to a turn-of-year placement rather than a product claim.
