James Crockart frames a well-dressed couple inside a dark window arch looking out over the resort grounds at Banff, the recreation laid out below them. Printed by S.C. Allen & Co. of London and Belfast in 1936 for Canadian Pacific's British market, the device puts the viewer inside the hotel rather than in the landscape, selling the comfort of the company's mountain resort as much as the scenery framed beyond the glass.
