Take Cover Travel Underground
Kathleen Stenning designed this 1925 poster for the Underground Electric Railway Company as one of a four-part weather series (alongside 'Keep Warm,' 'Keep Dry,' and 'Avoid the Wet'). The pitch is a single contrast: a violent thunderstorm rendered in jagged bolts up top, calm seated passengers below. Rather than argue speed or price, it sells the Tube as shelter, recasting Britain's unreliable weather as the reason to go underground.
