Ivan Chermayeff art-directed Pan Am's 1971-72 destination series for Chermayeff & Geismar, pulling stock photography from Magnum's archive and adding only the logo and a Helvetica destination name. The photograph here is Burt Glinn's 1961 image of monks from Mount Shichimen monastery facing a haze-reddened Mount Fuji; the type runs sideways along the edge to stay out of it. MoMA holds the poster in its permanent collection.
